Translating documents for Finnish applications from Riyadh
Googan works with clients applying through the Embassy of Finland in Riyadh, including clients the embassy refers to us directly. This guide summarises what the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) says about translating and legalising documents.
Which languages are accepted?
Migri accepts documents in Finnish, Swedish or English. Documents in any other language, such as Arabic, must be translated. English is the most common choice for our clients in Riyadh.
Who may translate?
- A translation by an authorised translator in Finland, or by a translator considered official in another EU Member State, does not need legalisation.
- A translation by any other translator must be legalised.
- The applicant pays for translations.
Ask the embassy how the translation should be legalised in your case, and we will prepare the translation accordingly.
When does the original document need legalisation?
Migri requires legalisation of some documents issued outside the EU and the Nordic countries, such as family-tie documents, where the application form says so. If the issuing country is party to the Hague Convention, legalisation is by apostille. Saudi Arabia is a party.
How to order
