Do Saudis need a visa for China?
China announced a trial policy exempting Saudi ordinary passport holders from visas for stays of up to 30 days for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges and transit. It began on 9 June 2025 and reports indicate it was extended to the end of 2026; check with the Chinese Embassy before travel. Longer stays, study, work and family reunion need a visa through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Riyadh.
Example: Q1 visa documents
For a Q1 family visa, the center asks for proof of relationship: a marriage certificate, birth certificate, Hukou certificate or notarised kinship certificate, plus the Iqama from Tawakkalna for residents and an invitation letter.
Documents used in China
Degrees for university admission, experience letters for work visas, and commercial registrations and contracts for companies. China and Saudi Arabia are both parties to the Hague Apostille Convention; ask the Chinese receiving body which legalisation and language it needs.
