Translation within the classification and registration route

This guide addresses translation of documents for a practitioner with a foreign qualification when preparing an SCFHS classification or registration file. SCFHS’s published FAQ states that the language of an attached certificate must be Arabic or English only; that wording expressly concerns the attached certificate, so it should not be turned into a universal rule for every supporting document without confirmation. The file may include an official qualification, academic record, internship and training documents, professional registration or licence, experience, and other documents depending on the service and case. If an original is in another language, keep the original and ask SCFHS or the receiving authority what is required for that specific document. The published requirements do not set a general mandatory translator, universal stamp format, or universal translation fee or turnaround time. Translation is also separate from foreign-qualification verification through an approved company, Ministry of Education equivalency where applicable, and general Ministry of Foreign Affairs ratification; none automatically proves the others. Under the published route, classification and reclassification may be requested from outside Saudi Arabia through Mumaris Plus, followed by professional registration before starting work in the Kingdom.

  • The official qualification or certificate to be classified, such as a bachelor’s, higher diploma, master’s or doctorate.
  • An internship or practical-training certificate, and an official description of training or passed subjects where applicable.
  • The academic record showing program details, duration and practical-training or internship specifications.
  • A clinical-training completion certificate, or a Fellowship or Board training-completion certificate where applicable.
  • A professional-registration or licence certificate from the official authority in the country of practice, with its verification letter; if no registration body exists, an official Ministry of Health letter from the applicant’s country.
  • A professional-experience letter, or an official Ministry of Health letter from the applicant’s country if no professional-registration body exists.
  • An employment-identification or introduction letter when required for classification or reclassification.
  • The final verification result for qualifications issued outside Saudi Arabia from a company approved by SCFHS.

Select Professional Classification through Mumaris Plus when that is the applicable route. If the qualification is not on the recognized list, the published route directs applicants to Qualification Study first.

Identify the qualification, training, academic record, registration, experience and conditional documents tied to the service. Do not assume every item is required in every case.

The FAQ says the attached certificate must be in Arabic or English only. The rule’s scope for supporting documents requires case-specific confirmation.

If the authority requests translation of a document outside Arabic or English, retain the original with a complete, legible translation and keep names, numbers, dates and specialty consistent. SCFHS has not published a general translator or stamp rule.

Qualifications issued outside Saudi Arabia require a verification result from a company approved by SCFHS. Ministry of Education equivalency may apply in stated cases and must not be generalized to every applicant or service.

Classification cannot be completed with the academic record alone. Attach the applicable documents and final verification report, and check that every page is legible and that the certificate has not been replaced by a translation or transcript.

Professional Registration follows classification in the published route and comes before starting work in Saudi Arabia. Translation alone does not establish authorization to practise.

Document type Common use Note

Must the attached certificate be in Arabic or English?

SCFHS’s FAQ says the language of the attached certificate must be Arabic or English only. That statement alone does not establish the rule for every supporting document.

Is a translated academic record alone enough for classification?

No. The FAQ states that classification cannot be completed with the academic record only.

Does translation replace qualification verification?

No. SCFHS separates document language from verification of foreign qualifications through an approved verification company.

Which qualification must be verified when classification relies on a bachelor’s degree?

The classification requirements say the bachelor’s certificate must be authenticated when the application is based on the bachelor’s degree.

What if classification relies on a postgraduate qualification?

The page says the higher degrees must be authenticated without needing to authenticate the bachelor’s degree in that stated case.

Which academic documents relate to clinical training?

SCFHS requires an official description of training or passed subjects, a record showing program details, duration and practical or internship specifications, and a training-completion certificate where applicable.

Are Fellowship or Board certificates treated differently?

The page says the training-completion certificate should show the program details, duration, joining date and completion date.

What if my country has no professional-registration body?

SCFHS says to attach an official letter from the Ministry of Health in the applicant’s country confirming practice before coming to Saudi Arabia; in that case, the published FAQ says verification of the experience letter by the approved company is sufficient.

Can I apply for classification from outside Saudi Arabia?

Yes. The FAQ says a practitioner may apply for classification and reclassification from outside the Kingdom through Mumaris Plus, without a valid Saudi work permit at the first stage.

What if my qualification is not on the recognized-qualification list?

The FAQ directs the applicant to the Qualification Study service, followed by Professional Classification and then Professional Registration.

Does SCFHS publish a mandatory translator list for this file?

The published requirements do not set a general translator list or universal stamp format for this file. Ask the receiving authority rather than assuming a general rule.

Is MOFA ratification the same as SCFHS verification?

The published requirements do not say they are the same. MOFA describes a general document-ratification service, while SCFHS describes verification of foreign qualifications through an approved company.

Is there a universal translation fee or turnaround time?

The published requirements do not provide a universal translation fee or turnaround time. A fee or duration for another service must not be presented as a translation rule.

May a non-Saudi applicant submit country-of-origin certificates?

The FAQ lists, for non-Saudis, qualification, experience, registration and professional-licensing certificates from the country of origin issued by the authenticating company, alongside other applicable requirements.

Is having a translation enough to start practising?

No. Translation does not prove classification, registration or authorization to practise. The published route places Professional Registration after classification and before starting work in Saudi Arabia.
